Notes on Guided Public Hikes:
Guided hikes are held “drizzle or shine” — heavy or steady precipitation or icy trail conditions may cancel. If in doubt, please call the contact number in the hike description to confirm.
Hike descriptions show an approximate round-trip distance (mi.) and time (hrs.) and a rating provided by the hike leaders: Easy hikes should be suitable for most hikers, including those with little or no hiking experience. Moderate hikes traverse more rugged terrain and slopes, or go at a pace some may find difficult. Challenging hikes are for experienced hikers.
For all hikes, hikers should wear shoes designed for hiking and bring plenty of water to drink. Long-sleeved clothing is recommended for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Remember! Even our “easy” hikes are on trails, not paved surfaces. None of the park’s trails are entirely open or level, and mud and puddles are typical after rainfalls.
